Accessing Online Content

On the left of every screen of the Sundance Literactive Readers site is a list of the story sets.

  • Click on the box with the set number you're looking for.
  • The covers of each title in the set will appear on the next screen.
  • Click Go to ELL Stories to access the ELL versions of the stories with the Spanish translations of the words. These versions allow you to toggle between English and Spanish. You can translate each word into Spanish with the click of a mouse.


Reading a Selection

Each screen has several buttons that help you choose how to read a story.

Title Screen

  • Motion - You can read a story with the animation on or off. When the Motion button is highlighted, the story is animated.
  • Voice - You can read a story with the voice on or off. When the Voice button is highlighted, the story is read aloud. Children can listen to the story or read along with the narrator. When the Voice button is dimmed, children can read the story themselves.
  • About - Click the About button to find out more about Sundance Literactive Readers.
  • Exit - Click this button to close the story window.
  • Read - Click the Read button at the bottom of the title screen to begin the story.

Story Screens

  • Arrows - Click the ► arrow to go to the next screen. Click the ◄ arrow to return to the previous screen.
  • Start - The Start button takes you back to the title screen.
  • Voice - You can turn the voice on or off at any time. If you turn on the voice while reading a story, click the Repeat button to have the screen read aloud. You can also click on individual words to have them read aloud.
  • Repeat - Selecting the Repeat button replays the current screen.

ELL Story Screens

Native Spanish speakers can find additional support in the ELL versions of the stories.

  • Each online book is introduced in Spanish.
  • A button on every page of the stories toggles between English/Español, allowing readers to switch between listening to each English word or its Spanish translation.
  • With the Español button showing, simply click on a word to hear the Spanish translation.
