Sundance Literactive Readers
Set 1 - Home and Self

What is more fascinating to children than themselves? Children are at the center of their own worlds. Their homes are extensions of themselves. The self and home are perfect places for young children to begin learning about the world around them. That's why these books focus on this familiar theme.

Talk about your home with your child. Help your child use the sentence patterns in the books to add to a story or to write a new story. Encourage your child to draw and write about him- or herself and your home.

Sundance Literactive Readers Set 2 - Family

The most important people in your child's world are you—the family. All families are special, yet each is unique in its own way. The books in this set will help your child explore and celebrate those special and unique people called family.

Talk about your family with your child. Help your child use the sentence patterns in the books to add to a story or write a new one. Encourage your child to draw and write about your family.

Sundance Literactive Readers Set 3 - Animals

Animals are everywhere. We see them in the woods, at the park, by the seashore, at the zoo, on the farm, and, sometimes, in our homes. We can also see animals in the books from this set of Literactive Readers.

Talk about the animals you see and where they live. Help your child use the sentence patterns in the books to add to a story or to write a new story. Encourage your child to draw and write about an animal you have or know.

Sundance Literactive Readers Set 4 - Friends

Friends are important in everyone's life. For your child, a friend can be a playmate at school, a grandparent, or even a pet. With a friend, we're not alone. A friend is there to play with, talk to, help us, or just hang out with. We can meet new friends in the books we read, including the books in this set.

Talk with your child about the friends in the books. Help your child add to a story or use one as a model to write a new story. Encourage your child to draw and write about friends.

Sundance Literactive Readers Set 5 - School

Most of us remember our first day of school. And from that day until we get our first real job, school is where we learn new things, make friends, and experience life away from our families. Your child is no different. Exploring school through books gives your child a window into other children's experiences, and shows that, in spite of our differences, we have a lot in common.

Talk about the children you meet in the stories. Help your child add to a story or use one as a model to write a new story. Encourage your child to draw and write about his or her own school or classroom.
